The Starbuck Classic once again proved why it has become one of the highlights of the golfing calendar, bringing together members, visitors, sponsors and volunteers for another fantastic day of golf while raising around £10,000 for Great Yarmouth & Caister Golf Club.
This year's event welcomed 32 teams, with golfers travelling from clubs across the region to take part in what has become the club's biggest annual fundraising event.
Congratulations to Our Winners
Congratulations to Steve Elliott, Louis Nichols, Aaron Mutton and Matt Bannan, whose outstanding performance saw them claim victory after some exceptional scoring throughout the day.
As always, every team left with a prize thanks to the generosity of 32 golf clubs, each of whom donated a fourball voucher. Their support continues to make the Starbuck Classic unlike any other club event.
More Than Just a Golf Competition
One of the unique features of the Starbuck Classic is the 18 on-course challenges, with every hole offering a different prize. From nearest the pin and longest putt to straightest drive, the challenges are designed so every golfer has the chance to win something, regardless of handicap.
The course was presented beautifully, with the greens receiving plenty of praise throughout the day. Like many courses across the country, some welcome rain would be appreciated, but the playing conditions were excellent.
A Huge Team Effort
An event of this size doesn't happen by chance, and enormous thanks go to everyone who worked behind the scenes.
Special thanks go to Dave Kightley, who spent months organising hole sponsorship, tee markers and much of the preparation that keeps the day running smoothly.
Thanks also to Dave Arend, whose work managing the scoring, checking cards and keeping the leaderboard accurate is a significant task that often goes unseen.
The volunteers at the halfway house also deserve special recognition. Their hard work ensured players were welcomed with refreshments throughout the day, including what many described as the coolest Pimm's on the course.
Thank You to Our Sponsors
Finally, our sincere thanks go to all of our hole sponsors, raffle prize donors and event sponsors. Your continued generosity is what makes the Starbuck Classic possible and helps the club raise vital funds each year.
From everyone at Great Yarmouth & Caister Golf Club, thank you to every player, volunteer and supporter who helped make this year's event another outstanding success.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back next year for the 16th Starbuck Classic.
