Captains Drive-In 2025

Our ladies were out in strength as the drive in of the new Captains took place

on Sunday. We have been short on ladies Captains and after a few years in the

wilderness Rita Bleasdale took on the challenge and will be a tremendous

asset to our golf club.

Driving in alongside the ever-popular club Captain Peter Munford the day was

set for a social two-man Texas Scramble. The weather was kind to start with

but by the soggy end most players were glad to get back in the club house.

Warm mulled wine and a welcome toddy of whiskey welcomed the golfers at

the halfway house.

Peter the incoming captain drove the ball 123 yards and Rita drove the ball 96

yards. if you were lucky enough to purchase those winning distances there is

a prize waiting for you in the office.

The two-man Texas Scramble format is said to favour the better golfers and so

it proved. The winners who only received 0.8 of a shot lead the field of 88

players with a fantastic score of 61.6. Alex Fellas and Jack Reeve 1 st .

2 nd were Andrew Fryer and Mark Cutter 64.50 with Tom Gilbert and Tom

Rutherford in 3 rd place 64.97.

There were nearest the prizes and a significant raffle.

Congratulations to everyone who took park winter well and truly took

command later in the afternoon.
