We held our Ladies' Summer Open Competition yesterday, which was well supported with 15 teams of 3 players, coming from around the County and beyond, as well teams of home players.
The weather was a worry, with possible thunderstorms forecast, but after some heavy rain and strong winds for the first few groups teeing off, conditions calmed. The sun came out but a strong wind throughout made the course as tough a challenge as usual, especially against the wind on the long par 4 11th and par 5 15th!
A half-way house greeted the players and helped them through, and with pimms and snacks all played on happily to the end! Players came in to enjoy a lovely buffet in the clubhouse before the prizes were awarded.
There were three 1st place winners (pictured below); one for a team of visitors only, 1 for a team of mixed players (home players and visitors) and 1 for a team of home players only.
