COVID 19 - Club Update

Dear Members,

We recognise the situation of COVID 19 (Coronavirus) is unsettling and we want to reassure you we are closely monitoring the situation and following government guidance.

We have had no confirmed cases of COVID19 (corona virus) at the golf club and we remain open and are operating as normal Anyone wishing to use the club facilities are welcome to do so.

We recommend that all members and guests rigorously follow government guidelines.

We are taking the following steps to ensure our members and visitors and team stay safe.

Additional Cleaning

We have a very strict cleaning procedures in place across all areas. All public areas and high touch points such as door handles handrails are cleaned more regularly with anti-viral cleaner.

What can I do to prevent the spread of Covid19 (coronavirus)?

When visiting the golf club we ask everybody to take the following NHS and government advice:

1. Anyone with a high temperature or a persistent cough is asked to stay away.

2. Anyone with high risk category people over 70, pregnant woman and those with underlying health conditions are also asked to stay away from the clubhouse.

3. Wash hands more regularly for at least 20 seconds

4. It is important to maintain good hygiene practises such as using tissues when coughing or sneezing and disposing of the tissue in a bin.

Not with standing the above it is considered prudent to put into effect a number of measures to protect all members and visitors from unnecessary risk. Therefore with immediate effect all competitions will be suspended until further notice.

Organised social events will be cancelled.

The golf course and club house facilities will remain open for general play use for both members and guests.

The consensus is that we have a duty of care to our members and guests and to consider the survival of the club.

On behalf of great Yarmouth and Caister Golf Club
